Rightly Dividing Matthew 24:36

"No man knoweth the day or the hour of the Rapture". That lie has been propagated since before the turn of the century. Why?

Because everybody listens to what they are told to think and then they go see what they were told to see. Nobody knows how to rightly divide Matthew 24:35-36

35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

If you want to rightly divide Matthew 24:35-36 then you need to put SchoolHouse Rock's Conjunction Junction in EVERY hymnal.

In the immortal words of the song:

They'll get you pretty far.

That's an additive, like "this and that".

"But":

That's sort of the opposite,

"Not this but that".

And then there's "or":

O-R, when you have a choice like

"This or that".

"And", "but", and "or",

Get you pretty far.

"And", BUT", and "or" are used to HOOK UP words and phrases and clauses. When you apply that rule to Matthew 24:35-36 then you will get pretty far.

Jesus was "Hooking up" 35 Heaven and earth shall pass way WITH 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

What day and hour? The day and hour the disciples asked about in Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Nobody knows when the end of the world will be because nobody knows how long the Great White Throne Judgement will last. Only God the Father knows that. When the Great White Throne Judgement comes to an end THEN Heaven and Earth shall pass away.
