Abraham Was Justified TWICE

Updated: Feb 26, 2022

James 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

Abraham was justified by his WORKS. Abraham did something he could boast about. He put his son, Isaac, on the alter of sacrifice. That act, that work, justified Abraham before men.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should BOAST.

Oops. The Bible says you are only saved by your faith. You have nothing to boast about before God concerning your salvation. Ephesians does not say For by grace are ye saved through works and faith.

Genesis 15:6 And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

Abraham was saved by his faith not by his works.

Romans 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

Ephesians 2:9 verifies Romans 4:2... if Abraham were justified by his works then he would have something to boast about before God.

Romans 4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward NOT reckoned of grace, but of DEBT. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Pay attention to verses 4 & 5. If you are justified by your works then your reward is reckoned of DEBT. If you are justified by your faith then your reward is reckoned of GRACE. You can have works and you can have faith but, only your faith will save you through grace. Your works have NO bearing on your salvation.

People insist on salvation through works, salvation through something you do, salvation through repenting of your sins. If you "DO" anything to justify your salvation then that is a work and you are NOT saved. That's what Ephesians 2:8-9 is saying... you are not saved by works lest any man should boast... before God saying...

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful WORKS?

You can not boast to God of ANY works that you did that contributed to your salvation. The consequence of doing that is eternal damnation.

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Have you been justified before God by faith OR by works. You can't have it both ways otherwise you can boast... and you have NOTHING to boast about before God. Either Jesus did all of the saving or you are not saved.

Heath Lambert and every preacher who preaches REPENT OF YOUR SINS & TRUST IN JESUS is damning every listener to hell with the false Gospel of works. Mark and avoid them!
