Matthew 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
Pay very close attention here.
Peter said: till seven TIMES?
Jesus said: I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
Jesus said we are to forgive UNTIL seventy times seven... NOT until seventy times seven TIMES.
Seventy times seven is Daniel's 70 week end times prophesy.
Jesus was telling us to forgive... until Daniel's 70 week prophesy comes to an end.
Jesus was stressing the fact that forgiveness ENDS when Daniel's 70th week comes to an end. If you are not forgiven by the end of Daniel's 70th week then you are going to hell.
Forgiveness will cease to exist one day because there is no need of forgiveness where there is no sin.
Update: I have had a few other thoughts since posting this.
Jesus did NOT say:
Forgive Until seventy times seven times.
Forgive Until four hundred ninety times.
Forgive Until four hundred fourscore and ten times.
Jesus did not give the number of times to forgive. He gave the period of time to forgive... Until seventy times seven... ergo... the end of Daniel's 70 weeks.
Forgiveness end at the end of Daniel's 70 weeks.
Bonus for Pastor Lowry:
This one verse also demolishes the Pre-Trib Rapture.
You need a good tree to produce good fruit. In other words you need a believer to produce a new believer.
If all of the believers are raptured BEFORE the Tribulation starts then there are NO believers left on earth to produce NEW believers during Daniel's 70th week.
A Pre-Trib Rapture means forgiveness ends at the BEGINNING of Daniel's 70th week. Jesus said to forgive until the END of Daniel's 70th week.
Therefore, the Rapture will take place at the END of the Tribulation before God pours out his wrath.
The reason why the 2 witnesses and the 144,000 appear before the Second Coming is so those who are left behind, who are not reprobate, can be saved during the last half of Daniel's 70th week.
