The Stars of Heaven Fell Unto to the Earth

Updated: Mar 24, 2023

I have changed my mind. See the update below.

This post was originally part of another blog post called Timing of the Events of the Rapture. I pulled this out and made it a separate post because I wanted to tweak it a little and highlight my thoughts on the matter.

Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 and the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

What are the stars? The bible does not say the stars fell 'down'... and Revelation 6:13 does not say the stars fell unto the earth like meteors and caused catastrophic damage. After researching stars in the bible a little bit I have come to think the stars falling to earth are angels gathering the elect. Here me out.

Remember the wise men?

Matthew 2:9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

The star 'went' before them. Stars are fixed. They cannot move. I think the star that guided the wise men was an angel.

What do we know about stars?

* Stars have names.

Psalm 147:4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

* Stars were created.

Genesis 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

* Stars fight.

Judges 5:20 They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.

* Stars sing.

Job 38:6-7 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; 7 when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

* Stars praise God.

Psalm 148:3 Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.

* Stars are all different.

1 Corinthians 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

* (Satan's) Stars Wander.

Jude 1:13 raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

* A third part of the Stars are Satans' angels.

Revelation 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

* Jesus is the bright and morning star.

Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. See also Who is the Day Star / Morning Star?

If the devil's angels can be stars & if Jesus is the bright and morning star, then why can't (some) angels be stars, too? I don't know if EVERY star is an angel but, I suspect many stars in the heavens are angels.

Matthew 24:29-31 Immediately after the tribulation of those days ... the stars shall fall from heaven... 31 And he shall send his angels ... and they shall gather together his elect...

The stars will fall from heaven and the stars will fall unto the earth. The stars don't destroy the earth or cause catastrophic damage... therefore, I'm thinking the stars are angels sent to gather the dead in Christ who rise first and then gather those who are alive and remain.

Update:

I woke up the other morning around 3 am and checked my phone and saw somebody commented on a Youtube video that I had commented on. I replied to their comment. Then I got to thinking about it and realized I might be wrong.

I have to do more research but, there is a time when Jesus returns with his saints. I was thinking that was the Second Coming but, I don't think it is. I think it's the 'Third' Coming.

This poses two problems for me.

The first is Jesus, the angels and the saints are up in heaven right now. When Jesus returns then what happens with the saints if they don't come back with him? How do they get back to earth?

The answer may be in Matthew 24 The sun and moon are darkened and the stars fall from heaven... and in Revelation 6:13 where it says the stars of heaven fall unto the earth.

Problem: Every star in the sky is bigger than the earth. If every star falls unto the earth then the earth will be obliterated. I was thinking the stars are a metaphor for angels... not physical stars. What if the stars are a metaphor for the saints... coming from heaven to the earth to receive their new bodies and then to be gathered up by the angels? That makes sense and answers that question.

The second problem is... Jesus comes back to rule and reign on earth for a thousand years. THEN... he 'comes back' again with the saints for Gog and Magog. When does he leave earth? Do the saints go with him? Is there some grand meeting on earth where Jesus says... it's time to go. The devil has been loosed. We'll come back soon and I'll finish the job... ?
